Today’s VOA60 Elections
The battle for women voters escalated to a new front, writes The Washington Post, after a Democratic strategist declared that Ann Romney, wife of probable Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney and a mother of five children, is not qualified to talk about the economy because she had never worked a day in her life. Caught on the defensive, the Obama campaign quickly tried to recover. President Obama issued a statement saying there is “no tougher job than being a mom.” And First Lady Michelle Obama went on Twitter to say “Every mother works hard.”
Meanwhile, the Romney campaign got some good news in a poll done by Fox News. It showed him ahead of Obama by 46 to 44 %. This is just the second time the Fox poll has showed Romney on top. The first was in November of last year, when he was also up by 2 points.
That is all for today. See you next time on VOA60 - Elections.
